This embroidery is inspired by the Greek myth of Persephone, a tale of love, loss, and renewal.
According to the myth, Persephone was picking flowers one day when she was abducted by Hades, the god of the underworld. He tricked her into eating pomegranate seeds, binding her to spend a third of each year in the underworld with him.
This story symbolizes Persephone's dual role as the embodiment of spring and the personification of vegetation. Her time in the underworld brings cold and barren lands, while her return to the surface signals flourishing crops and the renewal of life.
